Bayern eyeing Bergvall? (Daily Mail’s Simon Jones via @iMiaSanMia_GER)
According to this report, Bayern Munich is keeping a close eye on Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall.
The 20-year-old could be on the block and, if so, the Bavarians could be ready to pounce on a potential bargain:
Bayern is monitoring the developments surrounding Lucas Bergvall (20). The Swede has hinted to Tottenham that he would like to leave. Nottingham has shown interest, Aston Villa & Chelsea inquired in the winter, but Bergvall is looking into other options.
In his career, Bergvall has mostly played as a No. 8, though he has played the No. 6 and No. 10 as well. Could the Swede be the final piece of Bayern Munich’s midfield puzzle? This is not the first time that the Bavarians have showed interest in Bergvall as the club kicked the tires on him in 2024 as well.
Insight into Kane’s contract situation (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Bayern Munich and Harry Kane are not running into issues with a potential contract extension:
❌ It is NOT TRUE: Bayern Munich are encountering difficulties in contract talks with Harry Kane. At the moment, there are no talks. Kane, the eternal sportsman, is desperate to win the World Cup with England (which is not good news for Germany!). Two great goals from him against Croatia, by the way! First, Bayern wanted to talk with the England skipper, and he held off on talks because he wanted to win the Bundesliga. Then they asked again, and he asked them to hold off in order to focus on the DFB Pokal. There was also a dream of winning the Champions League, which further contributed to this situation. And now, we have the same (mini) problem again with the World Cup! And don’t get things twisted – it is a mini problem. Harry Kane has made it very clear that he loves Bayern Munich and wants to stay at the club. He’s in no rush. Talks can happen after the World Cup, ideally, for Kane, after he’s helped Thomas Tuchel’s side win it.
I really loved what Harry Kane had to say about Tuchel. He’s not an easy man to work with, but he is brilliant. Kane said the German made such a good speech at half-time in the dressing room against Croatia. Thomas Tuchel made it absolutely clear that when England are losing, they’re losing in their way. That’s Tuchel for “we want to win in the right way!” Ultimately, it appears that he found the right words, and England went on to win convincingly in Dallas. Kane is helping Tuchel navigate life as a German coach in an English dressing room. That may work at Liverpool, but not always with the national team! He needs a little help, which is why it’s so good that he has a partnership with Harry Kane.
City getting closer on Anderson (ESPN)
Manchester City could be getting close to getting its man — Nottingham Forest midfielder and England international Elliot Anderson:
Manchester City are “advancing” in negotiations with Nottingham Forest to sign midfielder Elliot Anderson, according to Florian Plettenberg. The England international is in the U.S. playing at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but that hasn’t stopped the two Premier League clubs from making progress over a proposed deal. Sources have told ESPN’s Rob Dawson that City have made an offer worth a total of more than £120 million. Manchester United, meanwhile, are yet to make a comparable offer for Anderson to date, meaning City are firm favourites to get a deal for the 23-year-old over the line.
Juve leads United on Kim (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
Juventus has the advantage over Manchester United in the race for Bayern Munich center-back Kim Min-jae:
✅ It is TRUE: Min-jae Kim is on the list at Manchester United. However, I heard that a deal is hotter with Juventus in Italy. That said, it’s not certain that the South Korea international will even leave Bayern Munich, as he’s enjoying his role at the club. Let’s see what happens with Juventus; then perhaps talks will open with United if things don’t work out with the Serie A outfit.
Brandt to Leeds? (ESPN)
Julian Brandt could be headed to Leeds United:
Leeds United are exploring a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports. The 30-year-old, who is set to become a free agent next month, has yet to commit his long-term future to another club. Leeds are reportedly prioritising recruiting a quality midfielder this summer, with Southampton’s Shea Charles also on their shortlist.
Gakpo to Spurs? (ESPN)
Tottenham Hotspur could be looking to make a move for Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo:
Roberto De Zerbi wants Tottenham Hotspur to sign Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, as reported by Nicolo Schira. Spurs are ready to offer the 27-year-old a position as a key player in their team and a contract that runs until 2031, with Gakpo reported to be unhappy about the exit of former manager Arne Slot, but it would take an offer upward of £60 million to make it happen. In another post, Schira states that Spurs are ready to make Newcastle United a new offer to sign Italy midfielder Sandro Tonali worth over £100 million, but the club will face competition from Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United.
