Can Harry Kane be cursed?
England is about to find out, because before their World Cup matchup with Ghana, a witch doctor has gotten involved.
Daily Mail has reported that a Ghanaian witch doctor named Nana Kwaku Bonsam has Kane in his sights.
This is the same witch doctor who claimed responsibility for a Cristiano Ronaldo knee injury during the 2014 World Cup, for whatever it’s worth.
“I am working on Harry Kane,” Nana said, via the Daily Mail. “I have shown what I am capable of before, so I know what work I must do to stop him. I am very famous for my predictions. I am not wishing him serious injury. It will be just enough to stop him against my country. I will do my work so that it can help Ghana.”

It’s a quirky narrative, but it also seems outlandish.
Of course, those who doubt this witch doctor may find their minds changed if something negative happens to Kane this week. But for now, it’s probably not a real worry.
For one, Kane seems like one of those players who simply can’t be cursed. He’s too immensely talented, too special, too consistent. How do you curse someone like Harry Kane?

For another, many would say England has already dealt with a lot of curses in their time since their lone World Cup trophy. What is a witch doctor going to do that the football gods haven’t already done?
If anything, this England team is built to be better than curses. They were built by Thomas Tuchel in a practical way, not a way too obsessed with individual talent or flare.
And with Kane, they have their talisman. He’s going to put in the goals. He’s the guy who can overcome all the curses.
