Arman Tsarukyan made Justin Gaethje a promise before the lightweight unification bout with Ilia Topuria.
If Gaethje beat the Spaniard as a huge underdog, Tsarukyan said he would buy him a car.
The American veteran won, but refused the gift, and the 29-year-old has now given the truck a new fate.
Arman Tsarukyan announces truck giveaway on Instagram
Tsarukyan has decided to turn the rejected gift into a giveaway for his followers on Instagram.
The Armenian contender has not confirmed the exact truck involved in the giveaway, but he had previously said he would buy Gaethje the RAM truck he wanted.
That promise came after Tsarukyan supposedly made a $1 million bet on Gaethje to beat Topuria at UFC Freedom 250.
Many sources report that the bet was purely a marketing action, but the 29-year-old stuck to his promise.
Gaethje later made clear on Joe Rogan’s podcast that he did not want the vehicle, saying he would not drive around in a truck another man had bought for him.
Arman Tsarukyan may be close to Justin Gaethje title shot
Tsarukyan is not just another name reacting to Gaethje’s rise. He is one of the leading lightweight contenders, sitting near the top of the division and pushing for a title opportunity.
That makes the truck storyline more interesting, as ‘Ahalkalakets’ could soon be chasing the same man he promised to reward.
Gaethje’s win over Topuria changed the lightweight picture and put the 37-year-old in control of the division.
Tsarukyan has been calling for his chance for some time, and it may be closer than ever.
