The Golden State Warriors are at an interesting crossroads with 10 free agents, as they hope to build their roster around Stephen Curry for another chance at championship contention before he retires. With that approach in mind, many have speculated whether or not Golden State will hold on to the No. 11 overall selection in the 2026 NBA Draft.
According to NBA insider Nick Friedell, who spoke with general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr., he stated, “Dunleavy sounds confident that the Warriors will make their pick at 11, but he leaves open the door slightly that the Warriors would make a move to get a veteran player if it makes sense.”
Friedell also mentioned that Dunleavy Jr. hopes Golden State will get younger this offseason. While the Warriors could certainly scoop up an incredible talent with the No. 11 overall pick, only the right fit would be able to benefit the team as a role player now and a key contributor later.
