Rise Mzansi Johannesburg mayoral candidate Lukhona Mnguni is adamant that his party will be able to change the state of affairs in the city once they get into government after the November municipal polls.
Mnguni says his party has the political will and a capable leadership that can return the City of Johannesburg to its former glory.
He was speaking at a media briefing in Johannesburg on Monday.
“Luckily when we get to council, because we will be in council and we will be in government after the 4 November 2026, just let’s be very clear about that when we get to council, it will be an opportunity to work on the adjusted budget for the City of Joburg. The first issue is to ensure that the finances of Joburg are sorted, and you’ve got a funded budget. Now that requires certain trade-offs and priorities to be on the agenda.”
