During the championship portion of the OSAA spring sports season, athletes from the Eugene-Springfield area continued to deliver outstanding performances.

Tristen Adams, Triangle Lake track and field
Triangle Lake junior Tristen Adams took second place in the Class 1A 110-meter hurdles in 15.27 seconds May 29 at the OSAA championships.
Gavin Crowl, Creswell baseball
Creswell sophomore designated hitter Gavin Crowl went 2 for 2 with a double, a triple and one RBI June 2 in a 4-1 loss to South Umpqua in the Class 3A state semifinals.
Travyn DuMont, Elmira track and field
Elmira sophomore Travyn DuMont took second place in the Class 3A 400 in a personal-best 50.83 May 29 at the OSAA state championships.
Cayden Hernandez, Crow track and field
Crow senior Cayden Hernandez won the Class 1A discus state title with a throw of 157 feet, 10 inches May 29 at the OSAA state championships.
Nicholas Miller, Churchill track and field
Churchill senior Nicholas Miller won the Class 5A 110 hurdles title in 14.52 May 30 at the OSAA state championships.
Miller also took fifth in the 300 hurdles (40.16).
Kaleb Moore, Junction City track and field
Junction City senior Kaleb Moore won the Class 4A shot put title with a throw of 59-10 1/2 to win his third consecutive state title May 29 at the OSAA championships.
Moore also placed second in the discus (171-0) and eighth in the javelin (160-1).
Jax Norcutt, Lowell track and field
Lowell junior Jax Norcutt won the Class 2A triple jump title with a personal-best mark of 43-4 1/2 May 29 at the OSAA championships.
Norcutt also took third in the long jump (21-1/2)
Corbin Sage, Marist Catholic track and field
Marist Catholic junior Corbin Sage won the Class 4A 1,500 title in 4:03.76 to claim his third individual state title May 30 at the OSAA championships.
Sage also took second in the 3,000 (8:40.41).
Grady Saunders, Thurston baseball
Thurston senior Grady Saunders threw 6 2/3 innings, struck out 11 and allowed four hits to lead Class 5A No. 8 Thurston to a 4-1 win at No. 4 Summit in a state semifinal.
Malachi Schoenherr, Sheldon track and field
Sheldon senior Malachi Schoenherr won the Class 6A 3,000 title in 8:21.07 to claim his third individual state championship.
Schoenherr also took fifth in the 1,500 (3:54.15).
Yosuke Shibata, South Eugene track and field
South Eugene junior Yosuke Shibata won the Class 6A 1,500 title in a Class 6A meet record 3:48.56 to claim his second individual state championship May 30 at the OSAA championships.
Shibata also placed third in the 800 (1:53.26).
Jaden Turner, Sheldon track and field
Sheldon junior Jaden Turner took third place in the Class 6A triple jump with a personal-best mark of 45-3.
Turner also was seventh in the long jump (22-6 1/4).
Yuepeng “Ethan” Vang, Churchill
Churchill senior Yuepeng “Ethan” Vang took second place in the Class 5A discus with a personal-best throw of 167-9 May 29 at the OSAA state championships.
Don Ware, Central Linn
Central Linn senior Don Ware took second place in the Class 2A 400 with a personal-best time of 50.47 May 29 at the OSAA championships.
Ware also was second in the 200 (23.28).
