The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) in the North West says it will take necessary disciplinary measures against patrollers filmed intimidating commuters in Hebron, Brits.
The video has gone viral on social media as tensions have flared up between local taxi associations and contracted bus operators in the area.

Taxi marshals have reportedly been forcing commuters off buses and intimidating passengers to use minibus taxis instead, prompting intervention from the provincial Transport Department.
SANTACO’s provincial secretary, Shakes Mayekani says they are investigating the incident.
“As SANTACO, we are busy investigating the incident, after finding out everything the disciplinary measure that we will take as SANTACO we have associations which have constitutions and one of our main focus is to suspend both members and operators who have done that is found guilty on the action.”
