Kharim Hughley’s weekend in Los Angeles only added to the excitement surrounding Clemson’s future quarterback room.
The Tigers’ quarterback commit was one of 20 passers invited to compete at the Elite 11 Finals, and he made the most of the opportunity against some of the top quarterback prospects in the country.
By the end of the weekend, Hughley had become one of the more talked-about performers from the event. During Sunday’s 7-on-7 competition, he completed 16 of 24 pass attempts and threw five touchdowns, closing the weekend on a strong note while showing why he continues to rise in national recruiting conversations.
Hughley’s performance stood out because of how confidently he pushed the football downfield. He showed plenty of arm strength throughout the weekend and was at his best when asked to challenge tight windows. One of the highlights of his showing came on a deep touchdown throw that further reinforced the traits Clemson saw when it offered him.
The four-star prospect committed to Clemson last July and has remained one of the key pieces of the Tigers’ recruiting class ever since. While many of Clemson’s commits were on campus this past weekend, Hughley is expected to make his official visit during the June 12-14 recruiting weekend.
