PARIS, Oct 12 (Reuters) – Joseph Martin saw his hopes of becoming a far-right National Rally (RN) lawmaker derailed in 2024 after journalists unearthed a seemingly antisemitic post.
It was RN president Jordan Bardella who initially withdrew support for Martin’s candidacy, seeking to show zero tolerance for antisemitism as the party tried to convince voters it had shed its toxic past and was ready for top office.
