Seattle Seahawks offensive guard Grey Zabel joined rarified air at the NFL Honors Thursday night as he became just the third offensive lineman to finish top three in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting in the past ten seasons.
Offensive Linemen to finish Top 3 in Rookie of the Year voting in the last ten seasons

Zabel joins guard Quenton Nelson of the Indianapolis Colts, who finished third in 2018, and Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humphrey, who did so in 2021. All three managed two votes from the fifty possible- which might not sound like a ton, but beats out other prominent players at more ‘popular’ positions. Zabel beat out both New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart and New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson, who each received just one.
Offensive Rookie of the Year voting:
Tetairoa McMillan: 41
Tyler Shough: 5
Grey Zabel: 2
TreVeyon Henderson: 1
Jaxson Dart: 1 https://t.co/5vwsGynI4X— Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) February 6, 2026
The company Zabel finds himself in with Nelson and Humphrey bodes well beyond just his rookie season, too. Each of those other two have gone on to make multiple All-Pro first teams and second teams- and have only missed one Pro Bowl between the two of them in 13 combined seasons. Humphrey has won two Super Bowls in five seasons and Nelson has made six total All-Pro teams in eight. Nelson has played and started all 129 games of his career and Humphrey has started and played all 85.
To put it simply, both Nelson and Humphrey are- barring off-the-field catastrophe- virtual locks for the Pro Football Hall of Fame when it’s all said and done. Zabel still has a long way to go to pile up those types of accolades, but he can start Sunday by doing something neither of them was able to do in their rookie season- win his first Super Bowl ring.
