Let’s get you closer to a fantasy football championship by giving some advice on players who will ball out. Much like Travis Etienne Jr., TreVeyon Henderson, and James Cook did last week, each received over 30 points. You should be in the semi-finals this week, so best of luck! If not, like the Atlanta Falcons always say, “There is always next year!”
Start – Woody Marks (Houston Texans)
Woody Marks has gradually increased his workload in Houston over the past few weeks. It appears that Nick Chubb has lost a step. Marks has a snap share of over 70% and could easily get 20 touches a game from here on out. The issue is that he also spends a lot of time in the blue tent because he tries to run people over on every play. Respectable? Yes. Smart? Not quite, but he’ll learn. He is an RB2, so if you have a stud at RB1, he will complement them greatly.
Start – Bucky Irving (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)
This game will be huge for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as they face off against their bitter division rival, the Carolina Panthers. It is a highly meaningful game for both teams. Irving only put up just over eight points against a stout Atlanta Falcons defense against the run, but this game is on a whole other level, which means the Bucs will utilize a speedy and tough Irving in many different schemes to snag a win and stay atop the NFC South.
Start – Aaron Jones Sr. (Minnesota Vikings)
It should be a game that bodes well for Jones Sr. and the Vikings. They will play the New York Giants, who have surrendered the 2nd most points to an opposing running back since Week 8. Jones Sr. should be able to get a few good carries and a touchdown by way of receiving or rushing. He will be considered an RB2 this week, but could get you some much-needed points by way of touches.
Sit – Ashton Jeanty (Las Vegas Raiders)
Once thought of as a lock for rookie of the year, it has been an underwhelming disappointment. The ones who dominate in college often find that the NFL is a different beast when it comes to opposing teams’ run-stopping defenses. The Raiders have been awful, and were shut out last week by the Eagles. Jeanty has only had 14 points over the previous two weeks combined. It may be better to sit him out this week.
Sit – Kenneth Walker (Seattle Seahawks)
Walker has been held to single digits a lot. He may also be cut by many fantasy teams this week, as they try to add a more consistent running back. Only having just under seven points total over the last two weeks is too big a gamble against the Los Angeles Rams, who have been rolling.
Sit – Travis Etienne Jr. (Jacksonville Jaguars)
Honestly, with all of the scoring that Etienne did last week, he may be the sole reason that you have made it this far in the playoffs, but the matchup isn’t great this week, as he will go against the Denver Broncos. Things will be tough sledding, especially on the road in Denver. Etienne will not have the output this week as the previous week.
