With the 2026 NBA All-Star game right around the corner at Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on Feb. 15, it was time for the league to announce the reserves for each conference for the midseason contest.
The Philadelphia 76ers already had a representative for the game as Tyrese Maxey was voted in as a starter amid his terrific season on the floor. With the reserves being announced, the Sixers were hoping to have another rep in the form of Joel Embiid.
In the midst of a resurgent season, Embiid is averaging 26.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists while shooting 49% from the floor. The big fella is moving as he was before the injuries and is throwing the Sixers on his back in games.
Alas, Embiid was not selected as a reserve for the game. The reserves were: Donovan Mitchell, Jalen Johnson, Scottie Barnes, Jalen Duren, Pascal Siakam, Norman Powell, and Karl-Anthony Towns.
