The Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans clash on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET in Houston. The Texans are heavy favorites. They have the No. 1 defense in the league and have won five games in a row.
The Cardinals are 1-10 since Week 2, 1-7 since Kyler Murray got hurt and 0-5 in their last five games, getting outscored by 75 points. They have scored 17 offensive points in each of the last three games.
This isn’t a good matchup on paper for the Cardinals. As such, our predictions for the game aren’t good.
Here we have the predictions for the Cardinals-Texans game from me and Texans Wire managing editor Cole Thompson.
Cardinals vs. Texans expert picks
Jess Root, Cards Wire
This is going to be ugly. The Texans will shut the Cardinals down. Brissett gets hit and sacked a ton. The Arizona defense can’t stop the run and will give up big numbers. I will be surprised if the Cardinals score more than one touchdown, and a defensive touchdown for the Texans is inevitable. Texans 27, Cardinals 10

It’s hard to trust the Cardinals coming in to pull off the upset. Even if this game ends up being sloppy from Houston’s side, the defense remains its ace in the hole. I expect the Texans to loop sloppy in the first, finish the second quarter with a pair of scores, enter the third quarter with no life but close out the afternoon with a late touchdown. The Texans secure their third straight winning season under Ryans. Texans 24, Cardinals 10
