WASHINGTON, Aug 28 (Reuters) – The United States issued additional targeted Iran-related sanctions on Friday after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent earlier this week threatened further action six months into Washington’s ongoing war with Iran.
The Trump administration plans to impose limits on an Egyptian bank for doing business with Tehran and revoke U.S. financial access to Banque Misr’s branches in the United Arab Emirates, a U.S. official told Reuters. The Financial Times earlier reported the forthcoming action.
