Indiana men’s basketball, representing the United States in the FISU America Games, is set to begin play in the FISU America Games this week in Lima, Peru.
The FISU America Games is a multi-sport event held every two years between collegiate athletes from the Americas leading up to the FISU World University Games, a larger scale event featuring collegiate athletes from around the world.
The basketball portion of the event is in a group format, with Indiana being in Group B alongside host nation Peru and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Group A is made up of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Chile. The groups are in odd numbers after Guyana dropped out of the basketball tournament.
Indiana will face Peru today and the U.S. Virgin Islands on Thursday before the elimination rounds begin on Saturday. These games, unlike previous international trips, will have a viewing option with the FISU America YouTube channel offering a livestream.
