Jürgen Klopp has strongly dismissed online reports that he has commented on England’s semi-final defeat at the World Cup and the tactics of coach Thomas Tuchel.
“Today I got a lot of messages about things on social media that I said something about the England game and Thomas Tuchel and tactics and things like that,” Klopp said in a video on Instagram.
“That’s not true. I didn’t speak to anybody for the last three, four, five days. The first time I will speak in public again is on Sunday at the final,” Klopp said, referring to hsi role as MagentaTV pundit.
“Crazy world, don’t believe everything you read. This time it is definitely wrong.”
England lost the semi-final 2-1 against Argentina on Wednesday. Tuchel has been criticised for playing too defensively after his team took a 1-0 lead. Argentina scored twice late in the game.
Former Liverpool coach Klopp, who is now set to become Germany coach, was not part of the MagentaTV team for that match.
