Major League Baseball fans love the Home Run Derby.
What they don’t love is the Derby being on the streaming service Netflix instead of FOX, NBC or ESPN.
The Derby traditionally has been on cable or over-the-air television, but this year it was moved to Netflix.
The frustrations poured over into X, formerly know as Twitter. Here are some of the posts:
The fact we still have to deal with commercials while watching this stream on netflix just makes this even more dumb. Ridiculous that the MLB is having home run derby live stream on Netflix.

The fact the home run derby is on Netflix is a disgrace @MLB

Wow @MLB and @MLBNetwork why is the Home-run Derby on Netflix and not a sports channel or better yet an MLB channel???!!!

MLB- We want to grow our game and show it to the younger audience. Also MLB- let’s put the Home Run Derby on Netflix that will cost everyone between 9 dollars and 30 dollars. Great choice

Another option would be to have NBC broadcast it on Sunday night since there wasn’t an MLB game last night. Failure on the Future’s Game and not having the Home Run Derby on national television.

It is an absolute disgrace that sports leagues are slowly transitioning to using streaming services to show their games. It’s extremely greedy and unfair to the fans. Under no conditions should the home run derby not be on cable. Shame on you @MLB

I liked it better when the All-Star Game and related festivities were just BASEBALL, not a production, and accessible to everyone on broadcast television. @Netflix is producing the worst production of a Home Run Derby in history. What is wrong with you, @MLB?!?!
