Step up to the blocks. The 18 candidates for the 2025 Daily News Fans Preseason Swimmer/Diver of the Year have proven they can get to the wall first.
Some are sprinting stars. Others excel in the air off the diving board. Then there are the swimmers who star in all disciplines. They come from nine schools and range from sophomores to seniors. Dover-Sherborn leads the way with nine options, while defending South Sectional champions Franklin boasts three. Algonquin, Ashland, Wayland and Lincoln-Sudbury each provide two choices.
Meets began Thursday, and the regular season will continue through February 2. Sectional and state meet participants will be determined by qualifying times.
