Tigres have one hand on the Liga MX Apertura title after securing a narrow first-leg lead over Toluca.
Toluca came into the affair keen on taking a huge step towards securing back-to-back titles, but the hosts had other ideas.
After a cagey opening 45 minutes, the scoring was opened thanks to Ángel Correa pouncing on a bad Toluca giveaway at the back, slotting home into a nearly open net after the goalkeeper was caught out of position.

The visitors nearly equalized straight from the kick-off, but Ricardo Angulo saw his effort cleared dramatically off the line.
To make matters worse for Toluca, Robert Morales was sent off in stoppage-time for a kick-out on a Tigres player.
The final will now move to Toluca this weekend for the second-leg, where a champion will be crowned.
