October 26, 2025 – The NFL is investigating the Baltimore Ravens after a discrepancy in the reported status of quarterback Lamar Jackson’s participation in practice. Initially, the Ravens announced that Jackson had fully participated in Friday’s practice. However, they later updated the report to reflect that Jackson was limited, citing that he did not take starter reps during practice.
Jackson has been sidelined with a hamstring injury and will miss his third consecutive game on Sunday against the Chicago Bears. Ravens coach John Harbaugh confirmed that backup quarterback Tyler Huntley would start in Jackson’s place.
According to NFL injury report rules, players who work with the scout team, like Jackson did, should be listed as “limited” even if they participated in the entire practice. The Ravens’ failure to initially report this could lead to penalties, including fines, suspensions, or even the loss of draft picks, as the league reviews the matter.
The NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed that the league would look into the issue, ensuring compliance with its practice reporting rules.
