Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany expressed satisfaction with his contract extension, emphasizing that he did not want the announcement to interfere with his team’s preparations for Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Club Brugge.
The club announced on Tuesday that Kompany’s contract has been extended by two years, rewarding the Belgian coach after a perfect start to the season — 11 wins from 11 matches in all competitions.
“My main request was that the timing of the announcement wouldn’t distract from our focus on the next match,” Kompany said.
