October 19, 2025 – Atlanta United has parted ways with head coach Ronny Deila following a challenging 2025 season. The club finished with a disappointing 5-16-13 record in MLS play, and 6-18-13 overall, managing just one win in their final 18 matches. With 28 points, Atlanta United ended the season in 14th place in the Eastern Conference.
The decision comes despite high expectations after Deila, a former MLS Cup-winning coach, was hired to lead the team. The club also made significant investments, including a $22 million transfer fee for forward Emmanuel Latte Lath from Middlesbrough FC and the re-signing of star Miguel Almiron from Newcastle United. However, the season’s underperformance led to Deila’s exit.
